French agriculture and taxi industries held protests, traffic in many places was blocked

On May 26 local time, French farmers held a protest, aiming to put pressure on the government to more effectively solve problems such as reduced farmers' income, excessive environmental protection regulations and unfair market competition. It is reported that the event was initiated by the Federation of French Agricultural Trade Unions (FNSEA) and the French Youth Farmers Organization (Jeunes Agriculteurs). On the morning of the 26th, about 150 to 200 tractors drove into the center of Paris and arrived at the National Assembly, causing serious traffic to be blocked in the surrounding areas. The police had to deploy police forces to maintain order.

In addition, French taxi drivers continued to hold protests on the same day, protesting against the competitive pressure brought by medical transportation reform and taxi-hailing applications. On the morning of the 26th, traffic interference occurred around Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Drivers demonstrated with horns and lights, asking the government to reconsider the relevant policies. Taxi drivers have reportedly threatened that if the government does not respond, they will expand the scope of protests, including interfering with traffic at the French Open (Roland-Garros).
