South Korean exporters expect exports to the United States to fall by 4.9% this year

Xinhua Finance, Beijing, May 26, According to a survey by South Korea's Mono Company, if the current US tariff policy continues, South Korean exporters expect exports to the United States to fall by nearly 5% this year. Among the top 1,000 exporters in sales, exports to the United States are expected to decline by 4.9% on average in 2025.
By industry classification, electrical and electronics companies are expected to have the largest decline, at 8.3%, followed by automobile and auto parts (7.9%), petrochemical and petroleum products (7.2%), and general machinery (6.4%).
By contrast, shipbuilders and pharmaceutical companies expect exports to the United States to rise by 10% and 1.6% respectively, despite persistent tariff concerns.
81.3% of the companies surveyed believe that tariff measures will have a negative impact on companies in both countries. Another 14.7% of the companies surveyed said that this will have a negative impact on Korean companies but will be beneficial to American companies.
