NVIDIA is reportedly planning to launch an open-source platform for AI agents. Dubbed **NemoClaw**, the platform will enable companies to deploy AI agents to perform tasks on behalf of their employees. According to sources, the platform will be accessible to companies **regardless of whether their products run on NVIDIA chips**.

The chipmaker is preparing to roll out an open-source AI agent platform for enterprises, marking a major step forward in the company’s software strategy.

On March 9, people familiar with the matter told WIRED that NVIDIA has begun pitching the product, internally codenamed **NemoClaw**, to enterprise software firms. The platform is designed to let businesses integrate AI agents into their workflows to carry out specific tasks in place of human staff. Notably, customers will be able to connect to the platform **whether or not their systems run on NVIDIA hardware**.

NVIDIA plans to officially unveil the product around its annual developer conference in San Jose next week. According to the report, the company has approached firms including Salesforce, Cisco, Google, Adobe, and CrowdStrike regarding partnerships on the platform. It remains unclear whether any formal collaboration agreements have been reached.

As the platform will be open-source, partners may reportedly gain free early access in exchange for code contributions. NVIDIA also intends to build security and privacy tools directly into the platform.

The launch of NemoClaw comes amid the rise of AI “Claw”-style tools across the industry. These tools run locally on users’ devices in open-source form, can autonomously execute sequential tasks, and are described as capable of self-learning.

Earlier this year, an AI agent named **OpenClaw** — originally called Clawdbot and later renamed Moltbot — drew widespread attention in Silicon Valley for running independently on personal computers and completing work tasks. OpenAI subsequently acquired the project and hired its founder.

However, the use of such agents in corporate environments remains controversial.

WIRED previously reported that tech companies including Meta have instructed employees to avoid using OpenClaw on work devices, citing unpredictable agent behavior and potential security risks. Last month, a Meta AI lab staffer responsible for safety and alignment publicly described an incident in which an AI agent “ran amok”, resulting in the mass deletion of emails.

For NVIDIA, NemoClaw carries broader strategic significance. The move is another step in the company’s embrace of the open-source AI model, and part of a wider effort to maintain dominance in AI infrastructure as major AI labs increasingly develop their own custom chips.

For years, NVIDIA’s software strategy has relied heavily on its proprietary **CUDA platform** — a system that deeply ties developers to the NVIDIA GPU ecosystem, forming the company’s core competitive moat. The expansion into an open-source platform signals that NVIDIA is seeking to attract a wider base of enterprise customers through its software ecosystem, rather than relying solely on hardware lock-in.

Additionally, The Wall Street Journal reported last month that NVIDIA also plans to announce a new chip system for inference computing at the developer conference, integrating chips designed by startup Groq. NVIDIA struck a multi-billion-dollar licensing deal with Groq late last year.
