Xinhua News Agency

On February 25, German Chancellor Mertz arrived in Beijing for his first visit to China after taking office. Chinese leaders will meet and hold talks with him. Merz led a high-level economic and trade delegation composed of about 30 senior executives of leading German companies to follow up this visit, which fully reflects Germany's strong willingness to deepen bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

German Chancellor Mertz arrived in Beijing on the morning of February 25 and began a two-day official visit to China.

This visit is Mertz's first visit to China since taking office. During the visit, President Xi Jinping will meet with him, and Premier Li Qiang will hold talks with him to exchange views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

China and Germany are all-round strategic partners with win-win cooperation. The two countries have close high-level exchanges and continue to deepen practical cooperation. China-Germany cooperation is mutually beneficial and brings tangible benefits to the two peoples. As the world's second and third largest economies, the sound development of China-Germany relations is in line with the interests of both parties and the expectations of the world.

It is reported that Merz led a high-profile economic and trade delegation to visit China. About 30 leading corporate executives from Germany's advantageous fields such as automobiles, chemicals, biopharmaceuticals, machinery manufacturing, and circular economy followed up, which fully reflects Germany's strong willingness to deepen bilateral economic and trade relations.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently stated that China is willing to take this visit as an opportunity with Germany to enhance understanding and mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, uphold the principles of mutual respect, equal treatment, and mutual benefit, promote greater development of China-Germany relations, and jointly make greater contributions to world peace and prosperity.
