Deloitte Report: 23% of CFOs in 200 large North American companies say they will invest or pay in cryptocurrency

According to Foresight News, Deloitte released new data this morning from its "CFO Signal Focus for the Second Quarter 2025" report, which evaluates financial executives' vision for incorporating digital currencies into their operations. Only 1% of the CFOs surveyed said they do not expect to use cryptocurrencies in business functions in the long term. 23% of the CFOs surveyed expect their finance department to invest or pay in cryptocurrencies over the next two years, up to nearly 40% of companies with revenue of $10 billion or more. 43% of CFOs are most concerned about crypto investments, followed by accounting and control complexity (42%) and lack of industry regulation (40%). The survey, conducted June 4-18, was conducted by financial directors of 200 companies in North America that earned at least $1 billion.


"Cryptocurrency is a unique asset, and the accounting treatment of digital assets seems to be still in progress," said Steve Gallucci, chief financial officer of Deloitte. In January, for example, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revoked previous guidance on crypto accounting and formed a working group to develop a new framework. "At present, the final outcome of the working group is uncertain."
