Argentina’s state-owned energy giant YPF is considering accepting cryptocurrency as payment for fuel
PANews news, according to Cointelegraph, Argentina’s state-owned energy company YPF is considering allowing drivers to use cryptocurrency to pay for gasoline and diesel. People familiar with the matter said that the plan may rely on third-party processors, rather than paying directly through wallets, including local and international platforms such as Lemon, Ripio or Binance, which will be responsible for handling currency exchanges. If adopted, the system would operate similarly to YPF’s existing USD purchases. Customers need to scan the QR code to transfer funds to YPF's account in Banco Santander. The application will display the corresponding peso amount and the reference exchange rate based on the buying price of Banco Nación.
