Russia’s second-largest bank VTB plans to launch cryptocurrency trading services through brokerage accounts in 2026

PANews reported on December 4 that according to Cryptopolitan, Russia’s second largest bank VTB plans to allow investors to buy and sell cryptocurrencies through its brokerage account. The head of the bank's brokerage services division made the announcement at an international investment conference in Moscow this week. Currently, VTB is offering clients the opportunity to invest in cryptocurrency derivatives and plans to offer direct investment in digital assets next year.

VTB plans to launch cryptocurrency trading services as soon as possible after the business receives regulatory approval. Russia’s financial regulator has hinted that such a move is likely to take place in the coming months. At that time, VTB customers will be able to buy, hold and sell crypto assets such as Bitcoin directly in their personal investment accounts or ordinary brokerage accounts.
