The Hong Kong government plans to issue digital green bonds denominated in US dollars, Hong Kong dollars, euros and yuan
According to Foresight News, Ming Pao quoted Bloomberg as reporting that the Hong Kong government plans to re-issue digital green bonds denominated in US dollars, Hong Kong dollars, euros and renminbi, with pricing as soon as today. This will be the third time the Hong Kong government has issued digital bonds since 2023, with the cumulative scale of the previous two reaching HK$6.8 billion.
Digital bonds can be issued through distributed ledger technology (DLT) platforms or on public chains such as Ethereum.
