Belarusian president calls for crypto-regulatory mechanism

According to Foresight News, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko directed lawmakers to set transparent rules for the country's cryptocurrency market, according to the Belarusian Telegraph. Lukashenko noted that in 2023, he “issued a series of instructions to ensure full regulation of the digital token and cryptocurrency sectors.” He refers to Belarus Presidential Decree No. 80, which calls for the development of a national crypto framework. The role of government agencies and government-supported IT SEZ high-tech parks in the cryptocurrency industry must be clarified. Previously, Lukashenko had instructed his energy minister in March to start developing the country's cryptocurrency mining industry.
