Metaplanet shareholders approve plans to raise up to $3.8 billion to buy more Bitcoin
PANews reported on September 2 that according to Cointelegraph, shareholders of Japanese listed company Metaplanet approved the increase of authorized shares and formulate preferred shares terms, with a maximum issuance amount of US$3.8 billion, and the proceeds are mainly used to acquire Bitcoin.
Previous news, Metaplanet shareholders approved three resolutions at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to increase the total number of authorized shares, allow the convening of virtual general meetings of shareholders and the establishment of new terms and conditions for permanent preferred shares. The president of Metaplanet said that the company plans to purchase a total of 210,000 Bitcoins by 2027.
