Illinois passes two crypto regulatory bills covering exchanges and crypto ATMs
According to Foresight News, according to Cointelegraph, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has signed the Digital Assets and Consumer Protection Act (SB 1797) and the Digital Asset Self-Service Terminal Act (SB 2319). The former authorizes the state financial and professional regulatory authorities to supervise digital asset exchanges and related companies, requiring them to maintain sufficient financial resources and implement cybersecurity measures; the latter is aimed at encrypted ATMs, which stipulates that operators need to register, make full refunds for fraud victims, and transaction fees must not exceed 18%, and limit the daily transaction limit of new users to US$2,500.
