Crypto bill stalemates in House procedural vote
According to Foresight News, the U.S. House of Representatives is at a deadlock today in a procedural vote to advance key crypto bills. Despite an early motion for preliminary procedural approval, it was ultimately failed to reach a consensus on the final vote of the three core crypto bills. The House passed the first procedure motion by a slight advantage of 217 in favor of 215 and decided to reconsider the debate rules on how legislation was advanced. The final vote for the second motion was 210 in favor and 218 votes against, and the Republican Party needed to reverse at least four votes to keep the legislative process moving forward. People familiar with the matter revealed that the House leadership did not fully consult with the Republican caucus before announcing the "Crypto Legislative Week", resulting in repeated setbacks in the legislative process this week.
