PANews reported on December 12 that according to Fortune Magazine, YouTube is allowing creators on its platform to choose to receive revenue through PayPal’s stable currency. May Zabaneh, head of PayPal’s encryption business, confirmed the arrangement and said that the feature has been officially launched and is currently only available to US users. A spokesperson for YouTube’s parent company, Google, also confirmed the news, saying that YouTube has added a new way to pay creators through PayPal stablecoin. At the beginning of the third quarter of this year, PayPal added the ability for recipients to receive payments in PayPal’s stable currency PYUSD. YouTube then chose to offer its creators the option to collect a cut of the revenue they earn from publishing content on the platform.
