According to Cryptopolitan, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Encryption Task Force plans to hold a roundtable in December this year to focus on the growing issues of privacy and financial surveillance in the encryption ecosystem. The specific date for the roundtable is December 15. According to people familiar with the matter, the meeting will invite encryption industry leaders to discuss common privacy issues faced by the industry with SEC officials and study potential solutions, in a format similar to other SEC roundtables in the past. But officials attending the meeting will not make specific policy recommendations.
