U.S. Secretary of Commerce: Commerce will start releasing economic statistics on blockchain
According to Foresight News, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik said at a White House cabinet meeting on Tuesday that the Commerce Department will begin publishing economic statistics including GDP data on the blockchain, which may be expanded to all federal departments after the Commerce Department completes "finalization of all details."
Earlier, on August 1, Trump fired Erika McEntarfer, the director of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, because the July employment report showed that only 73,000 new jobs were added, a sharp drop from the previous few months. Trump accused her of releasing data, raising concerns among economists.
