Zhao Changpeng applied to reject FTX Trust's $1.76 billion claim against him

Foresight News According to Bloomberg, Zhao Changpeng asked the US Delaware bankruptcy court to dismiss the $1.76 billion claim lawsuit filed by FTX Trust against it. The trust said the funds were improperly transferred to Binance by SBF (Sam Bankman-Fried). In a motion filed on Monday, Zhao Changpeng said he was a UAE resident and the trust could not prove that it was within the jurisdiction of Delaware. He stressed that the relevant claims have little connection with the United States and that the regulations involved have no extraterritorial applicability. Previously, the Trust and FTX Digital Market sued Binance and several executives regarding a share buyback agreement with SBF in July 2021. In July this year, two former Binance executives applied to remove the lawsuit. Zhao Changpeng said that he was just a "nominal opponent" in the transaction, accusing FTX of "unreasonable" to blame Binance for bankruptcy. He also pointed out that serving American lawyers to foreign defendants is an inappropriate act and will invalidate the complaint. Zhao Changpeng also said that the US bankruptcy law does not explicitly apply to the transfer of overseas funds.
